about

Mandolin Wind is a stunningly beautiful musical story written by Rod Stewart that appeared on his classic 1971 LP "Every Picture Tells a Story" and, later as "B" side to the very rockin' single "(I Know) I'm Losing You." "Mandolin Wind" has been heavily praised by music critics worldwide.

Both the Everly Brothers and Bluegrass Master Earl Scruggs crafted their own covers of the tune, but thirty years have passed since any artist took up the challenge.

This inspired Luke and the team at Pure Music Nashville to create a contemporary arrangement and introduce more diverse instrumentation from the "perfect" original tune. Luke's ever-present warm and engaging lead vocal compliments stellar musicianship by Luke (fiddle), Cody Kilby (Guitars/Mandolin), Cellist Nat Smith, John Heithaus (Guitar and Bass), CJ Hillman (Mandolin and Dobro), Percussionist Pete Young and Backing VocalIst Miss Abby Brown.
